With the swift development of Chikmagalur as a major tourist attraction in Karnataka, an amicable team recognised the need to preserve its spectacular, verdant habitat for the future generations, and thus the Chikmagalur Resort Owners’ Association was formed.

The association was established with an objective of ensuring the conservation of natural habitat and Malnad heritage.

CROA has passionate founders and other associates in the team who voluntarily contribute their time and resources to the work of the organisation.

Our executive committee has a robust blend of members, with the resort owners, who are veterans in the hospitality industry on one hand and the resort managers with rich experience in the field on the other. From industry experts to proficient masters to budding talents, the committee is charged with experience and fresh ideas in the determination to mould a bright future for the hospitality industry in Chikmagalur.

Objectives

• The main objective of CROA is to provide people an authentic experience of nature in its relatively pristine form.
• To ensure tourist places are unspoiled, predominantly with plastic and to ascertain that the environment is treated and experienced with utmost responsibility.
• To give an insight to the people about Malnad culture.

Although, nature conservation and showcasing Malnad heritage continue to be a core area of our work, our plans and projects move ahead in,

• to promote eco-friendly, responsible, and organized tourism in Chikmagalur
• inspiring and encouraging people to act responsibly towards nature
• reduction of environment pollution
• engaging with businesses to adopt better environmental practices
• adapting various ways to promote tourist destinations of Chikmagalur
